Indy is a spunky adolescent, full of love and waiting for a home to call his own.  His foster mom is working with him on calming his excitement when meeting new people and not pulling on his leash for walks.  Luckily he is a quick study and won't take him long to be a proper young lad with manners.  He needs a home where he can be physically challenged.  Indy would do best living with an owner looking for a running companion, active household of hikers, or even enrolled in agility classes.  Friendly and playful to cats and would love a companion dog to play and wrestle with.  Indy is currently being fostered in a home with 2 young boys (6 and 4 yrs old) and does great with them (although he often get too excited to see them and jumps up and pushed them over).  Formal obedience classes with his new owner is highly recommended.

Indy is sweet, highly motivated by praise, and enjoys the close companionship of humans.  He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night without problems.  He is really quite beautiful but hard to photograph as he is so inquisitive of that flashing object his foster mom puts in front of her face that she often get a close up of his nose.  Did I mention he is fast and energetic?

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
