Hi Everyone!
It's me, Holly. I'm back with an update since I've been in ERU's care for a few weeks. Last time I wrote, I hadn't had the chance to tell the great volunteers that saved me much about myself. All I was able to tell them was that my family took me to the shelter when they moved. Why they would leave a beautiful little girl like me is something I will never understand, especially since they had had me for such a long time. The shelter told ERU that I am 9 years old. Fortunately, my bad luck turned out to be a good thing. After being in foster care for a while, my foster mom realized that I seemed to be in pain. I don't like to be picked up, and the only way I could get my point across was to show humans my teeth. This scared them and made them stay away, but no one seemed to understand what I was trying to communicate until ERU rescued me. Thanks to my foster mom, I got a trip to the vet where I found out that I have a problem with one of the discs in my back. I also have lenticular schlerosis, which means I don't see very well. I'm not blind, but it's difficult to find my way at night. Because I'm older and have medical needs, ERU recommends that I be in a home without small children. It may be best if I'm the only dog in the house. While I don't mind other dogs, I really love my people and prefer them over my furry siblings. I'm alright with cats, but I probably shouldn't be trusted around small pets like guinea pigs. (They look pretty tasty!) Please don't let my age and special needs stand in the way of adoption. I am a loving, bright-eyed girl who wants a human to love. I enjoy sitting at your feet or in your lap. I love going on walks and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Don't you think I deserve to be spoiled and loved furever? If you'd like to know more about me, please contact Heather at heather@eskierescuers.org with the subject "Holly." Thank you!!
