Well, hello there!!!  Allow me to introduce myself...I'm Henry, American Eskimo dog extraordinare.  I sure am glad you found MY webpage...Ive been waiting for you.  Sit down, lets get to know each other. 

To tell you the truth, I have no idea how I ended up with the wonderful rescue folks.  Im a pretty sweet boy and somehow I ended up being picked up as a "stray dog", with my days numbered in a shelter.  There was this neat lady who saw that Im a "diamond in the rough".  She sprung me from the shelter and contacted the people at Eskie Rescuers United to come get me.  So, thats how I ended up here.  I still really dont understand it, but am happy cause I deserved a chance to find my new family.

I'm kind of a young guy and I could use a little bit of work on my "rough edges", but pretty much I am just a good boy.  Unfortunately, I do not give off the best first impression.  As a matter of fact I can be down right rude and nasty (hey, at least I am honest!).  I may even snarl and snap at you.  PLEASE, PLEASE don't let this discourage you.  Trust me....after I trust you I really, really warm up.  I warm up rather quickly to women.  It takes me longer to trust men so please be patient with me.  I WILL eventually warm up to men.  Just ask my foster dad.  I did not like him so much at first but we are now great friends!  I let him pet me, pick me up, rub my belly and hug on me.  He is super cool!  My foster mom is a dog groomer and I get to go to work with her everyday.  I meet many different types of dogs.  For the most part my canine friends do not bother me at all and I really like my feline friends too!
 
My foster mom is so excited for me to find my forever home.  She just wishes I would show my prospective family what I am really like sooner than I do.  She says I am about the sweetest, most lovable, energetic little American Eskimo she knows.  Even sweeter than her own Eskie Jack!  Honestly, I could do without that stupid Jack...but she loves him...darn it!
 
I am a great watch dog....no one gets in this front door without my approval....not on my watch!  Also, I am a great soft, cuddly, couch potato companion.  I absolutely love walks, rides in the car and belly rubs!  Please let me show you what a diamond in the ruff I really am!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
