Hi, I’m Hurricane but they call me Hurri. I don’t understand why because I’m never in a hurry, except maybe for a treat! Mom says I have to leave because one of their other dogs keeps getting into fights with me, even when I am minding my own business. Mom tells my boy to let us work it out among ourselves but he just keeps jumping in to get us to stop fighting and he gets hurt. And he says if a fight happens again he would help his dog. Mom says she just cannot continue to have a dangerous situation for her child in her home (he is 14 years old) and I have to go. <insert pouting smilie here > Gee, I sure hope we can find me a new family with a new boy of my own! Please please please! <looks at you with those sad big brown eyes> Thank you and WOOF Hurri! Owners notes: Hurri is a high energy little dog, who seems much younger than his years. Hurri is not the aggressor in the dog fights; it is definitely the other dog. I have tried various training techniques, and we now keep the dogs separate using gates. Unfortunately accidents happen where gates get left open and war breaks out. I just cannot continue to have a dangerous situation for my child in my home. And he has already said if a fight happened again he would help his dog. Hurri gets along fine with all other dogs, cats, and people! He is such a sweetheart! He is fine with the vet and the groomer says he is one of the nicest Eskies they have ever worked on. He has a beautiful coat and teeth. He is used to sleeping with his boy. He knows a few tricks, but is rusty on obedience. He knows “sit”, “down”, needs work on “stay” and walking nicely on leash. We live in the country with a big fenced yard so he hasn’t been on leash much. His recall is very selective – if he is in the mood to come he will. He has been with us since my son was 5, and has always been very good with the children. But I also have always demanded the children treat the pets nicely. He has also been around my grandson when he was a toddler, and if my grandson approached Hurri would just retreat to a different room. What I love about Hurri is that he is very joyful, obedient, and fun. What I dislike about him is his barking, but I don’t hold it against him. It is his breed!
