We are beyond grateful to welcome little Breadcrumb to the R'Eskie Ranch (near Baltimore, MD)

UPDATE 7/23/24: Sweet little Breadcrumb spent the day at the clinic today. He did great and he is home resting now. His mouth was infected and he needed 12 extractions. His kidneys and pancreas are in good shape. He has slightly elevated ALKP but normal ALT (liver enzymes). Little Breadcrumb does not have any toenails, and the doctor ruled out a medical reason. They may have been removed on purpose (!).

Breadcrumb has the sweetest temperament. After all he has been through he is such a happy guy. He does a happy dance when he sees me. My heart melts each time I look at him. I have given him 3 baths and shaved (mats) and brushed him. He fell asleep while I was shaving the mats out!

Breadcrumb will have a follow-up vet visit to make sure he is healing well.

Original post: This sweet senior boy weighs in at 11 pounds! Breadcrumb was found collapsed, most likely due to heat, by animal control.

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of shelter volunteers at Guilford County Animal Services (Jennifer), Pilots n Paws (Noah) and our team (Laura Andriola and Mayli Someillan), this precious angel will have a chance at a wonderful life where he will be cherished and appreciated every moment.

Breadcrumb will be getting the medical treatment he needs as soon as possible. Updates regarding his progress (and new pictures and videos) will be added here.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
