Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hey Boy recently returned to us. Two years ago he came to us from a shelter in Georgia with the name Jax and was quickly adopted. He wasn’t with us long enough to learn his new name and his adopted mom named him Hey Boy. Unfortunately for Hey Boy, his adopted mom recently passed away. Her daughter took in all three of her dogs but discovered that Hey Boy and her cat were not going to get along. Without cats around, or other distractions, Hey Boy is a very quiet and well-behaved dog. He is housebroken and he knows how to use a pet door. He doesn't hang out or play with the other dogs but seems to prefer to be left alone to hang out someplace away from everyone and just rest. He likes attention and being petted but he doesn't really seek it out. He is quite vocal when he sees any movement outside and may need to be somewhere that he can’t see out. He does not trust small children. He does fine with stairs. He is a bit on the small side and is the smallest Eskie of the herd we have here currently.
