Hi, my name is Harry! (Yes, I know, that?s a very ordinary name for a very EXTRA-ordinary guy like myself!) I'm a 1-year old standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs 28 pounds. My foster mommy thinks I'm just as adorable as can be, but she says I'm camera-shy, so my pictures aren't as good as they should be. I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. (I do have to tell you that when I first came into foster care I was heartworm positive, but I've finished all my treatments and now I'm as good as new!) I'm housebroken, leash-trained and crate-trained too. I also ride well in the car. I get along well with dogs, cats, children and other people. I'm actually very shy when I meet new people (until I get to know them and become comfortable with them), and then I'm as sweet and lovable and friendly as can be! I'm very playful, but I also love to give gentle little Eskie kisses! :o) I have to admit to one thing, though. Because of my many trips to the vet to get cured of that heartworm thing, I get scared when I'm taken out of my own environment. But that just means my new forever family will have to love and cherish and protect me extra hard, so I will always feel safe! I'm a very good boy, well-behaved and with no aggression issues at all. I have to warn you, though, I like to chew on shoes, so you better keep yours out of my reach! (My foster mommy is working with me on this, so maybe by the time you adopt me I won't be doing it anymore.) I'm a sweet, affectionate guy who will snuggle with you as much as you wish. Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? I'm waiting as patiently as I know how! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Knoxville, TN with my foster mommy, Janie. For more information on me, please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: JTackettzoo@aol.com. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its fosters as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Harry!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
