About Rosie!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 04-157
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Rosie! I'm a small standard-sized American Eskimo girl who will soon be 10 years old (I even know my birthdate). I stand 17 inches tall and weigh 20 pounds. I'm still a young lady at heart and in health, with lots of energy, but none of those old-age aches and pains. I gave my whole life to someone who just got tired of me and dropped me off at the shelter! :o( Luckily for me I was rescued in the nick of time!

I am spayed, microchipped, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm housebroken and promise not to have accidents in your house! Since I'm all grown up, I won't do annoying things like running around wildly or chewing up your nice belongings. The shelter shaved off all my beautiful Eskie fur, even on my face and tail, but it's growing back quickly, as you can tell from these new pictures of me. Don't you think I'm quite a beautiful girl?

I get along with other dogs after awhile. Though at first I may not act very nicely towards them, I leave them alone when I see they won't hurt me. (I don't want to play with them but I don't mind being around them.) And I get along with kitties as long as they don't chase me. (Please don't tell anyone, but I'm just a pushover!) I really like my humans the best, and I just adore being with my foster mommy and daddy! A home with older children would be better for me, since I'm not used to being around the younger ones. I warm up to visitors quickly and will let them pet me-as long as they are not the vet or the groomer! I know "those" people are only trying to make sure I stay healthy and beautiful, but they still scare me. (I just hate getting my shots! Can you blame me?) But at home I have no objections to being bathed and grooming; in fact, I love to be brushed and petted. I also love to go for walks, and snuggling on the sofa and watching TV are so much fun too! And do I ever love getting belly rubs-those are just the bestest thing in the world!

Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? I know I'm waiting for my new forever family-will that be you? You can see how BEAUTIFUL I am!!! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you. I'm in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with my foster mommy and daddy, Kim and Jeff. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away!

Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me!

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

More about Rosie!

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
