About Romio!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-215
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Romio. I'm a 1- to 2-year old standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs 36 pounds. Just as my name suggests, I'm a lover! :o) I will snuggle with you and love on you, especially if you pet my tummy--I just LOVE those belly rubs! I don't give face kisses very often though, because that would be rude.

I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm housebroken, and my foster mommy trained me to use the doggy door whenever I need to go potty. (Because I'm so used to using the door, we don' know for sure if I know how to tell you when I need to go outside--if you don't have a doggy door in your house, I mean.) I walk well on a leash and I'm very good riding in the car. I was never crate-trained, but I did okay when I was put in one. (I tested out a nylon one for strength and when it held me, I just laid down and took a nap!)

I love playing with my foster brother. We go for long walks and romps in the woods. My foster mommy has a lot of land to roam on, and I really enjoy exploring all over. I also like to play in the dirt, which my foster mommy lets me do, even though it means I need a bath afterwards. But I don't mind getting baths. I stand very patiently and let you wash all my parts--all 2000 of them. (Oh wait, that's how many parts a human has. How many does a dog have? LOL)

I also get along well with cats. The one that's here is very cute, and if she would let me, I'd give her plenty of loving by licking her fur and keeping her warm! I like everyone I meet, especially if they give me lots of loving, so I would do fine in a home either with or without kids.

I'm waiting as patiently as I know how for my new forever family--will that be you? Wouldn't you love to adopt me and let me show you what a great guy I am? I promise I'll never stop loving you!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: becki@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me.

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Bossier City, LA with my foster mommy, Becki.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Romio!
